Hi, I’m Cass. I’m a maker, performer, and sex advocate.
I founded Mojo so that I could marry my passions: Talking about sex, helping people, and making cool stuff.
In the nineties I went to Ryerson, where my specialty was Costume Design. I worked for legendary Toronto fetwear designers Northbound Leather, and I wrote a sex column (Organ Grinder) for Terminal City Magazine. After that, I spent 16 years as a buyer for Vancouver’s award-winning feminist sex toy boutique, Womyns’ Ware Inc, and traveled the world with my sex comedy duo, The Wet Spots. (You may have heard me during that time on the Savage Lovecast.) And finally, in 2018, I completed the Groundswell Social Entrepreneurship program.
In my personal life, I am happily pansexual and ethically non-monogamous. Every day I'm grateful for my little poly family.
So why start Mojo? During my time as a buyer, I noticed that people were asking for products that I couldn’t find. Often I thought to myself “I could make that!” I also noticed that the world was changing, especially with regard to gender identity and body acceptance. I imagined Mojo as a company that would transcend gender stereotypes, create accessibility for all bodies, and foster healthy conversations about sexuality.
So here we are, in the now. If I can be of service in any way, please contact me. I’d love to hear from you.
